Click to expand.actually, those 2 links go to bios version 5.27 whereas my mobo has version 5.28 released and i cant find links to that bios. I emailed hp about it and am waiting for a response. On a side note, if you look at both of those links to 5.27, they appear to be the same version, but separately list 2 different issues they address.
I find that odd. I would think 1 bios update to a same version would resolve both issues. But i am basically trying to find a copy of my bios so i can use the award bios editor to unlock its hidden treasures. And of course, so i can flash it back if i mess up. Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum and I thank you in advance for your time. I built my comp on 2005 i think, and picked an Epox 9npa+ultra mobo for it.
'phoenix awardbios v6.00pg' I believe that's an older bios version, and that's probably not what 'Product: Micro-star international Motherboard, atx, am3, 750a, sli, ddr3'. The thing is that epox does not longer exist and support for my mobo bios/drivers went down the pipes. I got to update my bios to a 2006 version but i would like to have the newest version, cause I think it should work better with win7.maybe i'm wrong, but i don't really think an older version should work better than a new one. Well, i went to phoenix award page and those guys encourage you to install a small scan software, which detects there is an update for my bios, but they charge to provide me with it. I don't understand how this is legal, but this guys should have a data base with the updates so anyone could find the updates for what I already paid when buying my mobo. Anyway, the info i got from the scan is this: Bios type: Phoenix-Award Bios Date: August 11th 2006 Bios ID: -NF-CK804-6A61FPA9C-00-None Bios OEM: For nForce4 Chipset-6.00 PG Chipset: Athlon 1100 rev 0 Super IO: Unknown Manufacturer: EPoX COMPUTER CO.,LTD Motherboard: nForce4 DDR:9NPA+/9NPA+Ultra/9NPAJ/9NPA Ultra Series can anyone tell me where to look for updates? Thank you a lot. Click to expand.by just searching your motherboard in google got me to the Epox site, which is not down and still alive and kicking.
Looking for your motherboard all I can find are BIOS updates up to. You are already saying, that the manufacturer Epox does no longer exist. They don't make new boards and their support for their boards obviously does not exist anymore.
(not bringing out new bios's) Who would make Bios updates when the manufacturer does no longer exist? There are no updates for your board. As for your worry that an old bios is not as good as a new one. Most of the time a new bios only adds support to a motherboard for newer cpu's. Well, thank you for your reply, but. If you watch ePoX page, the last news on it's home are from 2007, so they are dead. Also I got the latest Bios version from that page and it is from August 2006, not 2005 I thought only bios model matters.
I don't think phoenix creates a custom bios for every single mobo, instead it creates a bios for a range of technologies. So my bios for example works with mobos with nforce 4 chipsets and amd processors.many mobos may fit that criteria. And finally I find it strange that the phoenix driver update software finds an update of his own bios. But then again i'm no expert.just the opposite XD I guess i'll leave it like that, since i'll never pay to get it. Hi, I'm looking for BIOS update.
